2022 PH Presidential Candidates Breakdown

The Philippines has a national general election this year. Election day is May 9, 2022. Already, elections-related violence has begun, with the unjust imprisonment and even murders of members of progressive Partylists (Philippine sector-specific political parties).

International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP), is organizing an Internationl Observer’s Mission (IOM) to independently verify whether the elections are truly fair, truly clean elections, and to report on abuses of human rights that they witness on the ground – especially civil and political rights. They will present their findings in the following months.

As part of the project, ICHRP will be releasing IOM Bulletins to raise consciousness on the elections and observation process.

Presenting: IOM Bulletin #1, a short breakdown of the political background of each presidential candidate!
