Justice for the Bilar 5! Condemn the Bohol Massacre!

Justice for the Bilar 5! No more AFP massacres!

Canada Philippines Solidarity Organization strongly condemns the horrific tortures and murders of five revolutionaries in Bilar, Bohol on February 23, 2024, by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Domingo Compoc, Hannah Cesista, Parlito Historia, Marlon Omosura and Alberto Sancho were captured and taken into custody before being tortured and executed. Despite the false claims by the AFP and police that the five were murdered in an “encounter,” local residents were made to witness the tortures and murders of the revolutionaries, including Compoc, who was tortured in front of villagers to incite fear.

The murders are part of the AFP and comprador Filipino government’s attempts to crush armed resistance in the country through terror and gruesome humanitarian law violations.

The Filipino masses are just in their resistance and armed struggle against state terror and exploitation. as upheld by international law affirming the rights of people to resist oppression by all available means. Acts of oppression as blatant and horrific as those committed against the Bilar 5 prove the necessity of the resistance movement and their struggle to end oppression at the root.

State repression only strengthens the people’s resolve to fight for genuine democracy, freedom, and an end to the brutal US-Marcos regime. We commend the brave NPA revolutionaries in their commitment to this cause. We offer condolences to their families and demand that justice be served for the Bilar 5.

Justice for the Bilar 5! May they never be forgotten.
